I am proud to say I am done with my spring dress! I am super excited to be able to wear it soon. I am going to a BBQ this weekend and I am hoping the weather will cooperate. I apologize for it taking so long to get a picture of the Sencha blouse also.
Well, here they are!
For the dress, I failed to get a lower shot to show the hem (sorry!). In the process of making the dress, I realized both pictures are the same dress, the only difference being tied up as a halter dress and the other as a strapless dress. I took pictures both ways.
I am happy with the way both the blouse and dress turned out. What projects are you working on or have recently completed? Since I am new to sewing, do you have any suggestions or anything that you can see wrong in the photos of my projects? I am open to any and all suggestions and critique!

Nice work! The blouse is such a pretty colour on you, and you tackled buttonholes on one of your first projects -impressive! And the dress is so pretty and fresh. Love that you can wear it two ways too, I like the strapless version with the tie in front. Super cute!
Cute, cute! I think I need to think about sewing the Sencha blouse.
Thanks for joining my Thrifty365 Pledge.

Love the blouse, the colour is perfect. The dress is so pretty. Both of them look really good, I can’t believe you’re new to sewing.
Hello there! I’ve been following your blog for only a few short days- ever since you posted this dress to Sew Retro. I’m about a month deep into sewing myself, so it’s really interesting to read about your progress. You are doing great! It’s funny- I was going to purchase this dress pattern but opted for another vogue, in a similar style. I might have to buy it later on. Your’s is really cute. I actually linked to this post in my latest blog post- I hope you don’t mind. I have a Sencha Blouse in the works and a Beignet Skirt up on deck
Anyways, check out my blog if you’d like. http://www.helenethelstudio.blogspot.com (it’s just a wee 3 posts old)
Take care,
